Readings Friday December 23rd

To celebrate the end of our Fall Ango, today Roshi reads from the book, “Duties of the Heart: The Gate of Introspection”. He also reads from Advent Intercessions Psalms and Luke 2: The Canticle of Simeon

Today Roshi refers to The Book of Samuel and reads one of W.S. Merwin’s poems.

Roshi’s comment: This Advent, as we bring our gifts to the altar, let us at least be sure that the gifts we bring are not at the expense of others, especially not at the expense of children and others who have not voice.

Today Roshi recites a poem from Paddi Bushe’s book, “To Ring in Silence”

Today Roshi refers Isaia 7

Roshi’s comment: As we approach Christmas we could ask ourselves, “What is it that we are looking for?”
