O Radiant Dawn, splendor of eternal light, sun of justice; come and shine on those who dwell in darkness.
You will do well to be attentive to it as to a lamp shining in a dark place until the day dawns and the Morningstar rises in your hearts.
All the prayers today are canticles… songs of praise.
From a poem by Rita Simmmonds:
The inner chamber is holy
I offer prayers of obligation and longing
I am old
My life is reaching smoke and rote
I ask, I receive, but do not believe.
For this I am choked, made dumb
Days pass and the years vanish and we walk sightless among miracles.
from Prayer for Insight
Blessed are you who believed that what was spoken to you by the Lord would be fulfilled. Gospel of Luke
